Frequently Asked Questions

Website Questions

Q. Can I change my address online?

A.  To protect your personal information, we require proof of your identity before changing an address on any account. This can be done in person at any of our offices, or over the phone by calling your local WESTconsin Credit Union office or 800-924-0022 and speaking with a credit union representative who will confirm your identity.

Q. I’m getting error screens using WESTconsin Online Banking.

A. Try our WESTconsin Online Help page, which will walk you through the most common errors that users experience. If you are still having issues, please call our Service Center at 800-924-0022 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST, and they can attempt to assist you further. Many issues, however, stem from the user’s computer, browser or internet provider, and may be resolved on the user’s end.

Account Questions

Q. Why am I being limited for transfers from my savings account?

A. During any statement period, the federal government regulates that you may not make more than six withdrawals or transfers from your savings to another credit union account of yours or to a third party by means of a preauthorized, automatic, or computer transfer or telephonic order of instruction. No more than three of the six transfers may be made by check, draft, debit card (if applicable), or similar order to a third party.

The following list of transactions in each occurrence would count as one of these transactions:

  1. A transfer request from Share to Draft.
  2. Overdraft transfers.
  3. ACH debits from Share (savings).

Since this regulation applies to savings account, you may want to consider transferring some of your automatic payments or other unsigned transactions to a WESTconsin Credit Union checking account.

Q. How do I request a stop payment on a check?

A. If you need to keep a check from clearing your account, please stop in any office or call our Service Center at 800-924-0022. You may use our secure form to initiate a stop payment request – a credit union representative will call you to finalize the process.

Q. How do I change payments or transfers taken from my direct deposit, or stop a specific payment from happening?

A. It’s important that we confirm your identity before proceeding with any request to make changes on your account. Please stop into your local WESTconsin Credit Union office, or call our Service Center at 800-924-0022, and a representative will assist you.

Q. I’m traveling and don’t want my credit or debit card blocked. What do I need to do?

A.  We monitor credit and debit card transactions for suspicious activity, to protect your account. This may include transactions in locations that vary from the norm, and for your protection, your card would be blocked. To avoid this when taking a trip, please call our Service Center at 800-924-0022, and discuss your situation with a representative.
